the (&*&^&%%% boiler has had a wobbler aaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh the swine thing had a funny un the other week .........the pilot light won`t stay lit ggggggrrrrrrrrr so I thumped it and swore at it and it started working again anyhow, he went for his bath tonight and the water was stone cold boiler broke again thumped it , swore at it and it still wouldn`t stay lit thought we might have to have a new one and was worrying about it when I had a shower and thought aha! we have an emergen (or whatever it`s called) heater so switched that on and it worked and so he went to work and I set about the boiler again with a pair of pliers and tightened all the nuts up , pressed the thingy in, held my breath , let it out and it worked

got a leaflet throught the post about boilers today ;D says for £12 a month I can get call outs and repairs to the boiler (how do they know it was broke) loads of small print tho Start date Your agreement begins when we process your application.
Initial safety inspection If you choose Central Heating Care, or Boiler and Controls Care, we will inspect your system or appliance (or both) to make sure they are safe and in good working order. Your British Gas service engineer will fill in an initial safety inspection checklist to show you what he or she has checked. We will normally do this inspection within 28 days of the beginning of your agreement where possible but, as we give priority to breakdowns, it can be later if there is a lot of demand for our services. If the inspection reveals a problem, we may:
tell you what work is needed and what it will cost you for that work to be done; offer you an agreement from the section 'Gas options you may choose', which will not include the parts causing the problem; or cancel the agreement and refund your money. We will not carry out an initial safety inspection if we have already carried out a Safety and Maintenance Inspection at the property within the last 12 months.
hhhhhhhmmmm so I would have to pay to fix the problem before they would sort me out

I think it’s to stop people with old knackered boilers taking out an insurance plan and then claiming immediately el lass

well...................phoned them at 7 last night cos the pilot failed again ........was totally honest with them and told em it was broke anyhow, he said that if we went for the total cover plan, £24 a month, it would cover our central heating and boiler and they would come and fix it for no charge plus do a clean and maintainance ;D bit of a gamble really cos it will cost us £288 this year and it might only be a small problem sod it .............the bloke is coming today between 1 and 6 so himself will get up at 1 and cover me till 2 kitchen is sparkling at the mo for them all I have to do is keep the kids out of the way nearly shot our yob this morning as he trailed crumbs from his toast all over the worktops

when our oven gave up the ghost we took out insurance and had to wait for a month before we could claim, so we just used the top oven till the month was up....the guy had to come twice to fix it, i asked how much it would have been without the insurance and he said, after writing it down, it was £238... we guess it will now last for another few years, so we did not renew it after the year......the cover for the year was £65
